![]() We are told that we are case managers but yet there’s no training involved in this, so most of the nurses don’t - more. This is the first place I’ve ever worked. Many of the patients don’t go to wound clinics so it’s up to us to decide what would be best and ask the doctors for an order. We get education on how to stage pressure ulcer but no education on appropriate wound care. Most of the people I work with don’t even know what kind of wound care We should be doing to help heal a wound. There is no real nursing training that happens. There are also many patients who shouldn’t even be on home health because they don’t have a skill need but we are made to keep open because if we discharge a patient and we don’t have enough admissions coming in, they get upset. They give you no time outside of a patient’s home for a case management activities. We are driving 60 to 80 miles a day that’s a little hard to do. Routine visits are almost always one point but not with this company. That is virtually unheard of with any other company. However, one routine visit is only 0.75 so basically you have to see seven patients a day in order to meet productivity. They want you to do 25 points per week which is normal nationwide. The biggest issue with this company is that it’s a corporate company. Lhc Group Home ItrainWith hundreds of locations around the country, were always close to home. However, I have been at this company for a while, so I have a lot to say. ![]() First off, I am a traveler, so I cannot really speak to the benefits as far as a full-time staff member would go.
